Kamal Parmar is the current Poet Laureate of the City of Nanaimo, British Columbia.  She is an Associate member of the League of Canadian Poets and a Board member of the Federation of BC  writers.  She is also a member of Haiku Canada, a member of the Canadian Authors Association and of The Writers Union of Canada.  She is also a past Board member of Nanaimo Arts Council. Kamal lives on Vancouve Island and is actively involved in the literary scene.
